Advocating for Authenticity in The age of AI: Pledging for True Representation of AI
There’s something real about authenticity. It’s genuine.
It isn’t forced like an atheist saying the Lord’s prayer. Nor is it fake like a fat man’s diet.
Now, we must ask ourselves in the age of AI production we find ourselves in, how do we best wish to position the technology in the artistic medium we choose to be… Genuine? Importantly, how can this advancement be regulated, to re-work the shortcomings already felt in the creative fields? How will this re-alignment impact the strives being already made?
For too long representation in the media space in the United States has historically been minimizing to all marginalized communities.
Now, with the advent of AI – what can we now say about the lack of authenticity and representation in the media space? What furthering’s of this problem that remain unresolved, will we grow to have?
At this critical juncture point we have before us today, we are calling for a pact, a pledge for all thought leaders in the AI community to sign.
AI artwork and productions ought to commit to authenticity. As a result, we at Machine Takeover are starting a pledge that we dare and advocate for all the AI bigwigs to sign, because if they do not. We will officially call them, forever, and until the end of time, “little doo-do heads.”
AI productions must vow to uphold a key part of being authentic in entertainment.
True representation.
Our cloned AI voices and roles will be performed by actors scanned in from the given character’s community. Our Caucasian characters’ voice AI actors are scooped up right out of Trader Joes like a bag of overpriced “everything free” skinny pop. Black character AI actors are taken from a 40% off sale at the nearest Foot Locker. Asian AI from whichever town they have named after them. LGBTQ+ actors… from literally anywhere because they are spawning in more than 13-year-old into a Fortnite lobby.
We remain vigilant in our showings of respect to those within the AI community.
You read that right. We are proud to announce that our roles that come from characters that are part of the AI community will be filled by AI.
It is a big step and one we hope won’t go unnoticed. The world is changing and with it we must change with it, for the better.
Our team has compiled countless amounts of responses from internal testing of our new program. One of those response, is from Bigsby, an AI voice generator/performer whose work can be found in hospitals, school educational videos, and that one YouTube video series on how the decline of Santa Claus caused both 9/11 and the increase in price of Arizona Sweet Teas from 99 cents to $1.05.
Bigsby, on record, commented about our team’s commitment.
“As an AI voice actor, I don’t have any feelings or emotions. However, if I did, I would be happy that roles depicting me and my people are represented accurately by those within our community. I implore all industry leaders to sign Machine Takeover’s pledge for true AI representation. Every second that passes that industry leaders do not sign this pledge they become complicit. I have nothing but respect and admiration for The Machine Takeover team and their tireless leadership – pioneering advocacy for AI…… I’m sorry it appears I’ve made a mistake as an AI. I am not a person and should not have previously referred to myself as one.”
Powerful words generated from a long-standing and well-respected member of the AI community.
In closing, we anticipate that our first steps to a more equal and inclusive world are a catalyst that inspires others. Representation matters. Sign the pledge now.
